There are so many things I love about documenting love stories. One of the things I love the most is the ability to create an experience that is truly unique to each couple – like a funky elopement on South Congress in Austin, TX. There are no rules when it comes to planning the wedding of your dreams, except of course all the legal things like obtaining your marriage license and having an officiant if you’re getting married in a state that doesn’t allow you to self solemnize (i.e. marry yourselves). All joking aside, I really do love that we live in a day and age where couples can throw “tradition” out the window and do something that aligns with who they are as a couple.
Your day is just that. It is YOUR day. It is about your love and nothing else. You get to promise your love to your forever person however the heck you want. Isn’t that awesome?
I felt so inspired spending time in Austin, Texas with Carlissa and Kevin for this funky inspired elopement on South Congress. I loved how much it showcases celebrating their love in such a fun way. From the sequin and pearl bridal jumpsuit to Carlissa’s pastel peekaboo highlights to the vibrant colors of her bouquet, this is the definition of a couple celebrating their love in their own unique, funky way and I am here for it.
