I’ve always loved the outdoors and I’ve always loved color. I guess that’s why Colorado (my home state) is one of my favorite places. The saturated sunrises mixed with the exquisite blue and purple of the mountains is indescribable. Nature is good for the soul. There’s a true peacefulness it brings you. That’s why I love when couples decide to do something a little different for their wedding and elope. There’s something so magical about exchanging your vows in a naturally beautiful place without anyone else around. It’s so intimate and private. And a Boulder elopement is the perfect recipe for an intimate escape.

Starting the Day Early

We woke up at 3:00AM to get the coffee brewing and start Bre on her hair and makeup with Janae Zuff Beauty. Even though it was an early morning, chasing that sunrise was so worth it. Breana and Justin got to spend some intimate moments together on a mountain, just the two of them soaking in all the colors of the sunlight and overlooking the city. With the flexibility of an elopement, we were able to go to a second location and Bre even changed up her hair for a different look.

Why Elopements are Equally as Special as a Big Wedding

There can be so much pressure for couples to have huge, elaborate celebrations of love but weddings are not a one size fits all. That’s the beauty of weddings and relationships. They are all different. Everyone expresses their love differently. Couples’ ideas of how to celebrate their love is different. There is no right or wrong away to have a wedding. An elopement is still your wedding day and it is a BIG deal.

I hope this inspires you to truly think about the kind of wedding you want. It’s your day and you and your partner should choose a celebration of love that aligns with who you two are that will tell the story of your love. Who is going to be my next Boulder elopement?
