Are you a bride or groom who loves dancing and can’t wait to get on that dance floor at your reception? Are you still looking for songs to add to your wedding playlist? If so, this post is for you! If you’re not getting married but you still love good music, this post is still for you!

In case you didn’t know, I’m a dancer. Not like a “Dancing with the Stars” pro dancer, but your girl has got moves. Now, it’s debatable whether or not they’re good, but dancing makes my soul happy and I’ve been known to “dance and shoot” at my fair share of weddings.

I’ve loved dancing from as far back as I can remember. I’ll never forget the first time I watched Dirty Dancing and I BEGGED my mom to put me in dance (watching the movie on repeat, of course!). My passion for music and dancing goes hand in hand. They’re both such unique forms of art and ways to express yourself. Which, I am all about! It’s such a bonus for me that Colt loves dancing too and that we can share our love of the arts together. So, as I’m sure you’ve already guessed, I LOVE weddings where the dance floor is packed with hilarious dance moves and guests surrounding the bride and groom jamming out to some super fun music.

Without further ado and in no particular order, check out the 5 songs I think you should have on your wedding playlist and let me know what you think! I love how different they are and they can appeal to so many different crowds who just want to get up and boogie. Yes, I did just say boogie. Get your BOOGIE FEET on. I recommend listening to them a couple times. I know it’s not always fun to dance to music you’ve never heard, so share these songs with your friends so people can get to know them before your big day and you can have one epic dance party.

1. Perennial Bloom (Back to You) by Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real

This one is bound to be a crowd favorite. It’s especially great for those two-stepping couples who want to twirl around the dance floor together.

2. Mother of Lies by JD McPherson

Alright, JD is the man and his music is a blast. It’s like rockabilly music. I’ll never forget when we saw him at Gruene Hall and the entire dance floor was shaking. People just couldn’t stop dancing! It was incredible. JD’s music is the kind that appeals to all age groups.

3. Saddle by Paul Cauthen

How can you not love Paul Cauthen? He’s the man and his music is some of my absolute favorite. I will TOTALLY gift a 16×20 metal print to the first couple I have that can get their friends out on the dance floor and actually howl like a bunch of wolves during this song. Listen to it, you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s at 3:07 in the song.

4. Lightning Bug – Middlespoon

This song is SO much fun. Any time it comes on I can’t help but start moving, even if I’m working at my desk. Check it out, you’ll know what I mean.

5. Stranger – LUTHI

This song is a blast. I love the music so much. I don’t know how you can hear this song and NOT get up and move. A little liquid courage and the vibes of this song and you’ll be wiggling your way out to the dance floor.

Alright, friends! That’s it and that’s all. I hope these are the perfect addition to your wedding playlist. I will keep updating the list as I discover more music I think would be a great fit. If you have any recommendations, drop a comment below so others can dance to them on their big day!
